outfit 21--red and turquoise

pretty sure that when i was in 5th grade i thought red and turquoise were going to be my wedding reception colors.  i love these colors together!  the foot in the air side shot--woohoo!
so i taking hints from YOU PEOPLE who fashion blog and trying to do unnatural poses to show off my clothes--how this head down look?  the top of my faux hawk/pixie haircut is pretty cute:)

my cute little foot up does show off my shoes a bit better
a shot without the jacket as the temperature continues to increase during the day in my school room, more children breathing = more heat = less clothing:)

1)  $1 red shirt from Saver's (Quacker Factory--never heard of it)
2)  "the only thing i will ever knit in my life scarf"--cost of yarn, $1 million dollars mental anguish
3)   skirt thrifted so long ago, Hillard and Hansen, which i think is Mervyn's which is out of business:)
4)  black tights--lane bryant--can't remember cost
5)  red leather mary janes--dansko--$80-$100
6)  turquoise jacket--sunset cove--Dillards, clearance around $10
7)  crocheted flower gift from my friend who does like that stuff!
8)  earrings--me!

outfit 20--blue bellbottoms, not bluebell bottoms--hah!

i am so witty:)  this was a lane bryant clearance buy: i guess i probably spent no more than $10 for each the pants, tank top and the white shirt underneath. i am wearing my brown dansko clogs with thick cotton brown socks.

what kind of jewelry would you wear with this? royal blue is not a color scheme i have on hand, and this style of clothing does not seem to have an obvious jewelry shape/accent to it.  i guess earrings of some sort..chunky? slim? wire? short?  anyway....
isn't that a cute kitty clock in the background? when annie and i went to korea i think annie bought it for me, i planned on paying her back, i don't know if i ever did...i should ask her, maybe?

outfit 19--red and beige--silk and lace

pretty sure this red silk QVC find was picnic table inspired.  however, at $1, i could not pass it up.  it was chunky and square and i knew i need to slim it up.
the lace strips on the beige shirt underneath also came from a $1 find that had holes in the netting, but i loved the texture of the lace.
so the unveiling happens on a cold winter's day after a chick-fil-a dinner for CHD fundraiser at the District,

the long coat was a thrift store buy many years ago...awesome!  a red scarf to keep the wool off my neck
 buffy to help, too
and a close up, trimmed the sleeves, the bottom 1/2 of the shirt, the buttons and the collar off.  sewed a 3" interfaced strip at the bottom of the shirt for the ties, scooped out the neck, roll hemmed the rest and voila!
added more lace strips on the t-shirt, used a red thread and zig zag stich for contrast.  wore a thrift store gypsy skirt, my camel colored boots and there you have my outfit.  t-shirt--walmart $3, lace top $1, silk top $1, thrifted skirt DI $5, boots--sam's club $40.  thanks for your comments friends and family!

outfit 18--black and red--what a surprise, huh?

this is a dress thingy from lane bryant, i know i got on clearance but i don't remember the price.  the tank underneath is an oldie but goodie that i cut the tag out so i can't even remember where i got it.  the pants are a lane bryant clearance stretchy fabric, cuz the dressy thing would be too short without the pants.  the shoes are my black dansko mary janes.   so, so, so comfortable...love the animal print and sheen.

a rare saturday post, sunday variation

so i don't promise to always do weekend posts because i hardly ever get dressed, let alone dressed up! but we had a great party at my mom's house.  One thing i am hoping to learn is to mix colors and patterns together in this new fashionably sensible way.  I mean, i grew up in a time when everything was matchy matchy....
I have this great leopard skirt.  So, I put brown striped knee high socks and my chocolate brown boots.
then i layered a white oldy navy shirt, a lane bryant pink lace tank top and my newest thrift store find--ralph lauren silk cashmere sweater.  then i added a thrift store scarf, pinks and other colors.
trav and I -- oh so cute!
a nice butt shot--gives a perspective of the outfit--other fun members of my family
so sunday i changed it up a bit and wore a dark turquoise blue downeast shirt, black $1 sweater a thrift store find, and my scarf that was a gift from my friend.   that is my cat--harry bear--isn't he adorable?
i just realized i wore black and brown together, I hardly ever do that

outfit 16--brown silk cashmere sweater

here is me in front of my tiny one window room and my largest bulletin board.  luckily i have yellow chairs.
this is my steal of the deal sweater: ralph lauren cashmere/silk sweater for $7 at savers.  i about peed my pants with that deal.  my dress is dillard's bechamel (clearance for about $10), knee high socks and boots from Sam's club $10 and $40
oh so cute, comfy and warm!
an extreme close up of the yummy sweater and its ruffles, is the collar and the ruffles an okay combination?
